I’m sorry that it is not written in English, but I would like to share it with others.
Although this is the country of Open Sources, I was surprised that there were so many people who didn’t understand the benefit of sharing whether publicly through open source projects or documenting. Also at work, although they are native English speakers, I often found out that their writing skill was not good. Surely they will write in English better than me. However, the point is the writers’ attitude. They should understand what readers would want by reading and what the author want to explain. To have that capability, the author should have broad idea in that people can have different idea. Looking down others just because they don’t seem to understand yours is very harmful to write good document. They can already know what you are talking about or can know even more. However, it is possible that they just don’t understand your “word” because same words means different things in this field and newer terms are more popular and he only knows that or older ones.
Many will think that they can secure their job by not writing document at work or by pretending writing document because their company policy requires writing document. I understand that. However, if he start to build his own castle that way, others will not cooperate with him. ( Well.. there are opposite case also. People can try to use you, if you share. What a cruel world! )
Anyway, the linked blog post shows the blog owner’s idea why having good skills in writing (thus sharing) is important. If you understand Korean, try to read it.
