Xcode 3.0 and Apple’s marketing

I have enjoyed Apple’s environment, especially Apple’s development environment. Their APIs were designed so well. The Mac ToolBox was very nice. The Cocoa is very elegant and do the same thing or more thing than what MS promises with their .NET framework and its CLI.

However, I start disliking their marketing strategy.  Why can’t the Xcode 3.0 be used on the pre-10.5? Is there anyone who tried installing the Xcode 3.0 on the Tiger? I don’t see any reason why the Xcode 3.0 is tied to the Leopard.

I’m pretty satisfied with the Tiger and don’t want to upgrade to the Loopard, soon.

Although it is a free tool on the new MacOS X, it is not good practice of marketing to restrict its installation.
